Job Description

Behavior Analyst provides behavioral support by assisting staff on dealing with children until they have regained sufficient control to return to the classroom. Responsible for implementation of behavior plans and data collection according to student’s IEP. Position requires “hands on” student contact in both physical (approved physical interventions only) procedures and counseling capacity. Provide overall support to the educational program at the preschool and school age. In addition, may assist preventatively to avoid emotional and/or behavioral breakdowns. Other duties may include but are not limited to classroom observation, setting up individual schedules for students in need. Creating Programs or schedules as needed for students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond immediately with assistance to a child in crisis
  • Make daily classroom rounds to assess where behavioral assistance may be needed
  • Establish positive and meaningful connections with all children
  • Collects and calculate data to track increases/decreases and trends in student behavior
  • Conducts observations and participates in the training of staff on behavioral strategies
  • Assesses and evaluates each student to determine and make educational recommendations for the child’s individual educational program.
  • Create and implement behavior intervention strategies and plans
  • Assist in preventing children from eloping
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Follow up on recommendations regarding behavior management
  • Document required paperwork in a timely and professional manner in compliance with program policies, regulations and confidentiality
  • Attend trainings and act as model for TECC staff by modeling techniques and strategies learned at behavior management trainings.
  • Cover classes for absences as needed.
  • Create FBA’s and BIPs as needed for all students
  • Create and monitor school wide behavior intervention
  • Assist in creating and maintaining curriculum
  • Create individual or classroom programs and schedules as needed
  • Provide trainings to education and related service staff and parents around behaviors and interventions
  • Supervise Early Intervention ABA Homebased therapists as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure and to serve as a model of solid emotional and behavioral fitness. Ability to work in collaboration with TECC Staff, children and parents of varying cultural backgrounds. Must work well cooperatively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Must be able to multitask and use time efficiently. Detail oriented, logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interact and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices.

EDUCATION

  • Master's in education field, Certified BCBA, Licensed BA

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with young preschool and school age children. Experience working with teachers regarding behavioral techniques and strategies. Ability to speak calmly and supportively.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS
    • Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to employee's questions. Good interpersonal skills.
  • Mathematical Skills
    • Ability collect accurate data, add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
