A Brief Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President Physician Operations is responsible for evaluating market, financial and operational analysis to support NCH Medical Group business development strategies. Collaborates with administrators, physician leadership, and clinical services and decision support to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans for new products, programs and services that meet customer and organization goals. In collaboration with the Executive Director Medical Group Operations, the position is responsible for operational success and financial sustainability of new practice acquisitions. The position is responsible for the on-boarding and credentialing process of new physicians, mid-level providers, practice acquisitions and new program activity and the ongoing monitoring and reporting related to physician compensation; is accountable for oversight of quality assurance and safety.

What you will do:

  • In conjunction with the Vice President Physician Operations, continuously assesses areas of opportunity for medical group growth. Works in conjunction with NCH finance, planning, and decision support functions to research and evaluate the prospect of new programs or services from a reimbursement, financial, operational and compliance perspective. In cooperation with service line leadership integrates and aligns NCH Medical Group with NCH service line strategies to accomplish organizational goals and service needs.
  • Collaborates with other leaders throughout the organization in developing and implementing tactical plans for new or revised business processes and services. With management input, develops project implementation plans, monitors timelines and recommends modifications when appropriate. Facilitates the successful integration of new programs or changes to processes with supporting departments, physicians and vendors. Evaluates the effectiveness of new or expanded services compared to business and strategic plan objectives. Assists the management team in developing communication and/or training materials to educate staff and ancillary departments on operational changes.
  • Oversees the direction and management of all aspects of quality assurance and patient safety, including oversight of Director of Quality across all MG areas. Utilizes clinical informatics data, patient safety, clinician input and statistical analysis methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement and measure effectiveness of interventions. Reviews industry trends, compliance guidelines and best practices for quality improvement opportunities. Oversees development, communication and implementation of policies, standards, procedures and practices for clinical integrity, patient safety and quality initiatives. Seeks and executes outside accreditation on quality programs or services when required.
  • Conducts business and financial analysis on prospective physicians' group acquisitions. Liaises with prospective MG physicians and prospective physician's group leadership regarding practice, services, operations, standardization, financial and business issues. Collaborates in the process of physician recruiting and new practice acquisitions ensuring successful operational integration and financial sustainability. Oversees and ensures an efficient onboarding and credentialing process for new physicians and practice acquisitions. Works closely with Operations on strategies and communications to facilitate integration and adoption of all business and operations changes.
  • Collaborates with physicians regarding practice, operations, standardization, financial and systems issues and works with physicians and the Executive Director of Medical Group Operations to enhance productivity, efficiency, access, quality and patient satisfaction.
  • Develops, documents and implements processes for physician compensation monitoring and reporting.
  • Regularly evaluates the performance of staff according to the guidelines of the hospital's performance management system. Recommends/initiates corrective action as appropriate. Ensures that staff are oriented to the medical group and hospital, including safety and infection control policies and procedures. Oversees the planning of in-service educational programs and collaborates with others responsible for organization wide education to assure that learning needs are identified and addressed.
  • Adheres to all Northwest Community Healthcare standards, policies and procedures.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree Business Administration/Management Required Or
  • Masters Degree Business Administration/Management Preferred
  • 5 Years progressively responsible experience in a business development or operations management position preferably in a healthcare setting. And
  • 1 Year Previous experience with data collection/analysis, trending and time study techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with physicians, hospital leadership and personnel.
  • Proven leadership skills to build and motivate a cohesive team, anticipate and identify changes in healthcare, initiate programs and effectively manage on-going operations.
  • Organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee and provide direction for a number of complex projects concurrently.
  • The oral and written communication skills necessary to convey information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
  • The analytical skills to assess patients' needs, develop and administer a budget, develop goals, and evaluate subordinates' performance.
  • The ability to use a computer to perform the representative functions of the job.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products to prepare complex spreadsheets, graphs and custom reports.
