- Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work preparation
- Set up, adjust, and operate basic and specialized machine tools for precision machining operations
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and precision instruments
- Machine parts to specifications using lathes, milling machines, etc
- Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and conformance to specifications
- Monitor feed and speed of machines during machining process
- Study sample parts, blueprints, and drawings to determine fabrication methods and sequences of operations
- Diagnose machine malfunctions and determine adjustments or repairs needed
- Check workpieces for proper lubrication and cooling
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
- Design and create basic fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts as needed
- Deep hole drilling experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn quickly
- Commitment to continuous improvement through self-education and company-sponsored training
- 3 years of machining and/or manufacturing experience
- Basic blueprint reading skills
- Willingness to enroll in a Tech/Trade School for expanding upon Basic CNC Programming Skills
- Ability to recognize and report problems
- Capable of operating CNC machines while maintaining quality and safety requirements
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 30 pounds
- Willingness to work overtime and any shift as required
- Proficient communication skills in English
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and self-motivation
