Position: Assistant Controller, CPA with Sales and Use Tax Experience
Overview: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Ball Ground, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and have significant experience with sales and use tax.
Responsibilities:

• Assist the Controller in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
• Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP
• Handle sales and use tax filings, ensuring compliance with all state and local regulations
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform month-end and year-end close processes
• Support the Controller in the implementation of internal controls and procedures
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management
• Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on sales and use tax
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
