Northland is Hiring a Multifamily Operations Analyst Near Newton, MA

Position Purpose: The MultifamilyOperations Analyst will collaborate with the Multifamily Operations Strategy & Analytics team in providing data driven support to the onsite operations teams to drive optimal returns for investments made by Northland. This role would also liaise with various internal teams for cross-functional projects and initiatives impacting current and future investments.

Key Responsibilities: The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or modified, as necessary.

  • Manage a portfolio of multifamily properties, ensuring optimal performance and financial success. Develop and implement strategic plans for each property to maximize returns and meet investment goals.
  • Conduct thorough financial analyses, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor and assess property financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute expense management projects and ancillary revenue opportunities by working closely with operations, asset management, marketing, technology, and finance teams.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and conditions affecting multifamily real estate.
  • Prepare and present regular reports to stakeholders, summarizing property performance, financial metrics, and key insights.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance the value of each asset within the portfolio.
  • Expense Management: Contribute to monitoring and optimizing property expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and assisting in financial planning.
  • Revenue Enhancement: identify opportunities for revenue growth, such as rent pricing strategies, renewal strategies and occupancy analysis.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with asset management, marketing, property accounting, investments, training, and multifamily community leaders to drive optimal results across Northland’s national portfolio.
  • A thorough understanding of operating businesses to explain performance metrics and strategic objectives in a clear, concise manner.

Qualifications and Requirements: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business, or related field with at least 2 years of experience in real estate is required; experience in an asset management-focused role is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools is required (Excel, PowerBI)
  • Knowledge of multifamily real estate operations and revenue management is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with property management software and financial modeling is preferred.
  • A strong desire to contribute to data-driven decision-making and operational improvements with the ability to take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to spot trends and insights within data.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
