Northland Properties is Hiring a Housekeeping Manager Near Plano, TX

The Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for the supervision and control of cleaning and servicing for all bedrooms, public rooms in the hotel. Their job duties are critical in the effective management of the hotel, as cleanliness is of the highest priority in the hospitality industry. The effective management of our housekeeping team will be paramount to the success of this position. Leadership, problem-solving, and decisiveness are critical for success in this role.JOB DUTIESEnsure that all bedrooms and public rooms are serviced and cleaned daily.Ensure that VIP rooms receive the designated extras.Ensure an adequate supply of clean linen in a good state of repair.Ensure that rooms are checked regularly for repairs and refurbishing, and that appropriate maintenance is completed.Liaise with General Manager and notify them of areas in need of attention pertaining to decor.Ensure that team members are coached and trained to perform their duties effectively.Ensure that attendance registers are completed daily and in accordance with statutory regulations.Ensure that salary variations and administrative returns are completed correctly and submitted in a timely fashion.Draw up duty rosters and ensure that staffing levels are correct, to agreed standards, and are not exceeded without permission.Ensure that adequate supplies of cleaning materials are available.Clean an assigned number of rooms per day keeping within departmental standards (seasonal).Ensure that regular fire and evacuation drills are held.Ensure effective communications through attending meetings and imparting information at regularly held staff meetings with assistant housekeepers.Prepare and submit, in the required format, all information necessary for budgeting purposes.REQUIREMENTSUniversity degree or College Diploma in an appropriate field preferredHigh School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience requiredMinimum 5 years of housekeeping related work experience requiredMinimum 2 years in a supervisory role requiredGood problem solving skills and ability to develop conceptual alternativesKnowledge of applicable federal and provincial laws and regulations regarding health standards for hotel facilitiesAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingEffective communication skills with individuals at all levels of both inside ad outside the organizationBasic mathematical skills requiredA well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skillsHighly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environmentProven Supervisory skillsComputer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail requiredAbility to follow through and complete overlapping projectsHigh degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptabilityHigh level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretionStrong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to team privacyWORKING CONDITIONSMay be exposed to waste, infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. that are consistent with hotel housekeepingManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripheralsManual dexterity required to use various cleaning apparatus and supplies.Regular physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and kneeling.Overtime as requiredMust be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 30 pounds We believe that by taking care of our team members, we create a positive atmosphere that benefits both our team members and guests.
