Northlake Behavioral Health System is Hiring an IOP Therapist FT/PRN/PT Near Mandeville, LA

The Ness Center at Northlake is a comprehensive outpatient clinic providing various treatments for a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders. The level of care ranges from intensive outpatient treatment to outpatient and alumni support. Our Mobile Crisis Team provides community-based services to adults and adolescents experiencing a behavioral health crisis needing on-site intervention and referral.

  • Case Management
  • Counseling services, family support services, and peer support
  • Crisis behavioral health services including 24/7/365 mobile crisis teams
  • Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) including Suboxone treatment
  • Ambulatory Detox and Medication Management
  • Outpatient (OP) treatment for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders
  • Primary care screening and treatment services
  • Psychiatric screening, assessment, and diagnosis

The Ness Center team serves as the primary source for coordinated care with other social services and health care providers focusing on a whole health holistic approach to healthcare.

As our IOP Therapist, you will provide quality clinical and psychotherapeutic services to the youth and adult patient population and their families and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team supporting the organization’s treatment program and philosophy and assure the deliverance of quality treatment to patients and their families. 

While no two days are ever the same, you can expect to:

  • Work collaboratively with other departments within the facility to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and to develop clinically sound, therapeutic interventions

Essential Functions:

  • Facilitate individual and group treatment with patients
  • Ensure that the clinical program and treatment rendered to patients is safe and clinically appropriate
  • Ensure that patients are provided with appropriate and relevant therapeutic interventions and that their medical needs are addressed by the nursing staff
  • Demonstrate conduct in keeping with ethical standards
  • Complies with facility safety, infection control, and security programs
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and can resolve problems and issues that may arise expeditiously
  • Keeps DCS informed of all serious incidents, allegations, or serious issues related to program operations and patient safety
  • Educates other staff on appropriate interaction with patients in group based on the individual needs of the patient
  • Timely documents patient’s participation in group therapy & response to the intervention
  • All other duties assigned

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

Education: Master’s degree and license for independent practice (LCSW) in social work or equivalent master’s degree in a recognized mental health field (LPC; LMFT; etc.)

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a clinical or psychiatric service setting

Licensure/Certification: Professional clinical license issued by the appropriate licensing body in Louisiana; CPR and CPI certifications required within 30 days of employment.

Other: Written and oral communication skills; skills in case management, time management, and crisis intervention. Knowledge of developmental psychology of youth and adults; needs of youth and adults; Skills in maintaining information as highly confidential; must demonstrate the ability to treat other age populations as needed or have the capacity to develop skills through cross-training and orientation. Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation. Ability to complete required documentation in a timely, accurate manner that is clinically appropriate and within expected timeframes.
