POSITION SUMMARY
Northern Water is seeking a Communications Specialist I to be a part of a dynamic and high functioning team. By producing content for various communications projects and providing support to corporate events, a successful applicant values culture, job fulfillment and raising the bar on communications to share our story with regional water users. This position will create content for various program efforts through writing, editing, graphic design, video production and more. Writing across multiple channels includes content development for website, social media, email, print and more, while video production allows the candidate the opportunity to identify topic experts and make editorial decisions to tell a digital story. A successful candidate will provide support for all corporate events, including assistance with logistics, registration, vendor communication, marketing and more. The position will also help manage tour requests for various projects, including registration, safety information and driving attendees to project sites. Additional responsibilities will include developing relationships with water users and project stakeholders, leading presentations for public groups, assisting in a variety of internal and external communication tasks and participating in outreach activities.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Communications Department leads internal and external communications and public outreach for Northern Water. Responsibilities include media relations, website management, social media marketing, tours, public speaking, graphic and video creation, event coordination and documenting the organization’s official record of Board and committee meeting minutes.
GENERAL STATEMENT
This position is responsible for writing, editing, producing videos, capturing images, designing materials and leading public information programs for Northern Water, the Municipal Subdistrict and associated projects and programs. In addition, this position will assist in the overall development of internal and external communication projects.
