Schedule:

This is a seasonal position. Required availability for camp is Mon-Fri, 8:30AM-4:15PM June 24th-August 30th (no camp on July 4th and 5th).

We also host a pre camp Mon-Fri 8:30AM-3:15PM June 10th-21st if you are available.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and creative individual (with teaching experience preferred) to join our team as a Summer Camp Art Director. This role is perfect for someone passionate about art education and nurturing the creativity of children aged 4 to 12. As the Art Director, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging art projects, managing art supplies, and leading a team of instructors to provide a fun and enriching experience for campers.

Responsibilities:

Develop and plan age-appropriate art curriculum and projects for children aged 4 to 12.

Coordinate with camp leadership to integrate art activities into the overall camp schedule.

Lead daily art sessions, providing guidance, encouragement, and instruction to campers.

Supervise and mentor art instructors, providing training and support as needed.

Manage art supplies inventory, ensuring adequate materials are available for planned activities.

Create a safe and inclusive environment where campers feel encouraged to explore their creativity.

Collaborate with other camp staff to organize special art-related events, exhibitions, or performances.

Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's participation in art activities and progress.

Ensure adherence to camp policies and procedures, including safety protocols and behavior management.

Evaluate the effectiveness of art programs and make adjustments as necessary to meet camper needs and interests.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children in a camp, classroom, or recreational setting.

Strong artistic skills and a passion for teaching and inspiring creativity in children.

Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff members.

Knowledge of child development and best practices in art education.

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of camp programming.

Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working in a camp environment.
