This Nurse Apprentice opportunity is per diem and offers a variable schedule. We are looking for a dynamic Nurse Apprentice to help provide amazing direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. Communicates with RN preceptor, as appropriate, about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates supportive behaviors necessary for performing bedside report using IMAP & SBAR (both accomplished in partnership with patient inside room)
  • Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes: pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.
  • In coordination with RN preceptor, is able to formulate a patient care plan.
  • Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness under the supervision of the RN preceptor.
  • Follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors, under the direct supervision of the RN preceptor.
  • Assists with formulating a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.

Requirments:
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Has completed the first year of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital.
  • Current BLS certification.
