Position is located: Sebasticook Valley Hospital

Work Type: Full Time

FTE: 1.000000 - 40 hours per week

Work Schedule: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Summary:

The Quality Support Specialist provides technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, then process, design and present it in ways to support to the Quality Division and assigned clinical departments. Works in collaboration to support all aspects of the Director of Quality and Risk, Senior Physician Executive, and VP of Nursing. Must be well versed in the quality and data job requirements of the departments of Sebasticook Valley Hospital. Is able to work independently, Performance Improvement/Quality data support as required and the completion of independent research projects under the direction of the Director of Quality, Senior Physician Executive and VP Nursing and Patient Care. Ability to orient new employees to SVH regarding performance improvement, quality initiatives, patient safety and risk management.

Responsibilities:

  • Abstracts, collects, stores, and reports data relative to quality in coordination with Department Managers for purposes internal, external, and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, then process, design and present it in ways to assist the Director of Quality and Department leaders.
  • Using statistical tools assists SVH leaders as necessary to interpret data and refine data reporting to achieve the intended goals.
  • Performs analysis to assess quality and meaning of data.
  • Work in collaboration with Northern Light Health Quality Data department to develop reports from the Electronic Medical record, then with Department Leaders to validate the developed reports.
  • Develops and maintains databases.
  • Provide administrative reports, and support to the hospital and Medical Staff Performance Improvement Programs.
  • Acts as a Tableau subject matter expert, providing direction and expertise to department directors.
  • Assists Director of Quality with the patient complaint process, ensuring timely response and resolution.
  • Acts as RL6 Solutions Incident Reporting Software Superuser, monitoring timelines for completion and providing feedback to Director of Quality and Leaders as indicated.
  • Serves as owner of clinical contract maintenance in Med-ireg Software Management System and ensures annual contract evaluations are completed.
  • Ensures annual approval of all patient care policies and procedures to Medical Staff and Quality & Professional Affairs Committee.
  • Complete data entry of quality data approved by Director of Quality and Risk.
  • Coordinates and assists with the development and submittal of Hospital Wide plans and annual evaluations
  • Accountable for timely quality data submissions to external sources.
  • With limited direction, performs data analysis research necessary to complete various quality projects.
  • Organize and manage internal resources to promote new processes.
  • Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally to assist and enable organizational operations and effective service to connect groups.
  • Prepare monthly performance improvement summaries for presentation at Medical Quality Committee
  • Assists the departments with quality control audits and implementation of Clinical Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Follows abstraction guidelines and stays up to date with registry requirements.
  • Manages all elements of the Director of Quality’s office as necessary to assure smooth and effective interaction with the public, medical staff, and other staff. Arrange meetings and other conferences, schedules interviews and appointments, and performs other duties related to maintain the administrative support for the Director of Quality and VP Nursing and Patient Care Services.

Successful candidate must possess strong communication skills, ability to speak in presence of different audiences, perform under pressure, and be appropriately assertive when indicated. Successful candidate must also consistently model Northern Light Health Sebasticook Valley Hospital’s values.

  • Health Care Provider CPR certification

· MOAB training

Maine driver’s license

  • Proficient to learn and navigate multiple software platforms, data entry portals, and data bases with ease. (RL6, MediRegs, Press Ganey Abstraction, Cerner, and Cerner Reports as examples).

· High level of organization required with ability to juggle multiple priorities.
