Northern Dewatering, Inc. is Hiring an Electrical Maintenance Technician Near Rogers, MN

Northern Dewatering, the Midwest’s premier Dewatering and Bypass contractor was founded in 1984. Bolstered by a strong belief in integrity and customer service, John McShane has built Northern Dewatering into one of the largest multi-faceted dewatering and bypass pumping companies in the Midwest and beyond. At Northern Dewatering we are seeking a self-motivated and high-energy individual to join our Electrical Technician team!

This position will be based out of our Rogers, MN headquarters and is a fulltime non-exempt position.

Primary Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and diagnosis on Northern Dewatering’s electrical submersible pumps and controls
  • Rebuilding pumps, servicing and maintaining electrical boxes and power distribution cables, replacing breakers, programing and set up of VFD controls.
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Inventory control
  • Quality checks on completed repairs and pressure testing pumps
  • Document in detail, work performed on repairs
  • Assist other mechanics
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop/working area
  • Some travel to job sites for service calls
  • Be able to diagnose and repair equipment quickly and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Technical or Vocational training, or an equivalent amount of work experience in a related field - Willing to train
  • Be able to work independently and together
  • Self-motivated to perform tasks with little or no direction
  • Problem solving ability with practical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
  • Basic welding skills a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to pass a drug, alcohol, and cannabis test
  • Reliable form of transportation

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple deadlines simultaneously while working both independently and with other team members with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet job requirements
  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work in an outdoor environment during all weather conditions
  • Maintain a positive demeanor
  • Detail-Oriented
  • Monday – Friday with some weekends and overtime

Physical Functional Requirements:

  • Walking on even and uneven, rough ground.
  • Balancing and carrying material and equipment.
  • Twisting at the waist and neck.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders. Also climbing on uneven grounds and into and out of excavations. Also climbing on equipment.
  • Reaching out and overhead -- also lifting while reaching out and overhead.
  • Crawling on hands and knees.
  • Stooping and bending -- also lifting while stooping and bending.
