The services of this position are paid on a contracting basis and are not connected to full-time benefits. Under the direction of the Foster Care Director or Supervisor, the Resource Parent Consultant will be assigned to a potential Foster Parent to certify as an official Resource Parent. Payments of services are compensated upon service completion, and all required documentation has been received.

The Resource Parent Recruiter Consultant will update our tracking form and submit all certification documents when received from pipeline community members.

The Resource Parent Recruiter Consultant will be well versed in the Pennsylvania 3700 Foster family regulations. The consultant will contact the potential Resource Parent within five days to begin the certification process.

In completing the Certification, the Resource Parent Consultant will assess
identified the family’s readiness through our home study, home inspections, and clearances for all family members over 18.
Northern will provide all documentation and certification packets for families to complete. The certification process is divided into 4 phases.
The Resource Parent Consultant is expected to schedule and complete home visits and maintain follow-up with families through consistent contact to ensure each packet is complete within the 60-day certification schedule.
The Resource Parent Consultant is expected to complete daily/ monthly benchmarks on our designated tracking system.
The Resource Parent Consultant will be required to complete necessary Northern training and other training if deemed appropriate by the Foster Care Director or Supervisor.

BASIC SKILL SETS

  • Knowledge of social services, child welfare, and family systems services.
  • Culturally sensitive to the needs and diversities of multicultural communities.
  • The ability and willingness to adjust work hours in accordance with client needs.
  • Strong writing and oral presentations skills
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Trauma-Informed
  • Strong organizational skills, an ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • the possession of Professional Liability insurance (can be obtained upon hire and before first assignment)
  • Ability to attend evening and weekend home visits.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, respectful and courteous nature.
  • Practices good customer service skills in all working relationships.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Skills in typing, basic computer operations, Microsoft, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Able to work independently, demonstrating good judgment
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all staff.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, consumers, vendors, and the public.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Minimum requirement is a bachelor’s degree (Related field, Social work, Sociology, education, criminal justice)
  • Experience: Minimum three years working in the child welfare
  • Special Skills: This person is self-motivated with a high level of initiative. Excellent computer skills, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet, software, are required, and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize, meet multiple deadlines, and attend to detail.
