Child Preparation and Child Specific Recruitment Consultant

Position Type: Contractual

Note: This position does not include full-time benefits.

Responsibilities:

Child Preparation:

  • Request necessary historical records.
  • Conduct 10 sessions with the identified child to assess readiness for Adoption or Permanency.

Child-Specific Recruitment:

  • Request necessary historical records.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with the identified child for 6 consecutive months to assess readiness for Adoption and matching with an identified family.

Timely Follow-Up:

  • Make outreach to families and CUA Teams within 5 business days of each referral assignment.
  • Anticipate and address possible barriers hindering timely submission.

Home Visits:

  • Schedule and complete home visits.
  • Maintain consistent contact with families.

SWAN Portal:

  • Complete daily/monthly benchmarks in the SWAN Portal for assigned referrals.

Training:

  • Complete necessary SWAN and other training as advised by the Adoption/Permanency Supervisor or Coordinator.
Education:
  • Bachelors in Social Work or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in Child Welfare

Skills:

  • Knowledge of social services, child welfare, and family systems services.
  • Cultural sensitivity to the needs and diversities of multi-cultural communities.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours based on client needs.
  • Strong writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Accuracy and detail orientation.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and prioritize.
  • Possession of Professional Liability insurance (to be obtained upon hire and before the first assignment).
  • Availability for evening and weekend home visits.
  • Interpersonal skills, respectful, and courteous nature.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Proficiency in typing, basic computer operations, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Capability to work independently, demonstrating good judgment.
