Master Multitasker: Juggling surgery schedules, insurance nuances, authorization processes, and patient appointments is your forte. You excel in fast-paced environments, effortlessly handling multiple tasks with ease.

Insurance Expertise: Understanding the ins and outs of insurance and authorization procedures is crucial in this role. Your expertise ensures our patients receive seamless support every step of the way.

Scheduling Pro: From booking surgeries to coordinating pre-op and post-op appointments, you’re the backbone of our surgical team, ensuring each patient’s journey is smooth and hassle-free.

Duties:
- Schedule surgical procedures for patients, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and documented accurately
- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries and ensure availability of necessary resources
- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions, post op instructions, answer questions, and address concerns
- Obtain and verify insurance information, ensuring proper authorization for surgical procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including surgical schedules, patient information, and documentation of surgical procedures
- Utilize various software systems (such as Athena Health, Cerner, and Epic) to manage patient appointments and record surgical information
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction
- Provide administrative support to the medical office as needed

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is preferred
- Proven experience in a medical office setting, preferably in surgery scheduling or a related role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgery scheduling
- Proficiency in using phone systems and various software systems (ssuch as Athena Health, Cerner, and Epic)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
