A person who possesses excellent communication skills. This person will receive and send information to the public regarding the WIC Program via telephone and mail.

Reports to: WIC Information & Referral Supervisor

Responsibilities:

1.Provide information about WIC for all incoming calls. 

2.Screen persons interested in applying for WIC via the WIC WISE computer system. 

3.Send appropriate forms and information to eligible WIC applicants; reschedule clients for WIC appointments.

4.Answer questions for participants about the WIC Program. 

5.Updates participant information and schedules appointments via the WIC WISE computer system. 

6.Perform any other job duty necessary for the smooth functioning of the WIC Program.

a.Connect with our patients/participants and their families

b.Appreciate what our patients/participants and families say and acknowledge their situation

c.Respond in ways that would be helpful to the patient/participant and their family

d.Empower patients/participants and families to have confidence in their ability to contribute to their health and healthcare.

e.Apply the same principles to internal and external customers.

f.Support the NEVHC Guiding Principles.

8.Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.

9.Information and Referral Clerk II will have the added responsibility of assisting participants who are transferring in or out of the CA WIC program.

10.It is the responsibility of every employee to report any patient safety concern to their immediate supervisor without fear of reprisal. NEVHC policy of non-retaliation protects employees who report patient safety concerns.

Qualifications:

1.High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.

2. Armenian / Russian speaker preferred

3.Excellent communication skills are required.
