Job Description

The Technical Specialist will provide advanced technical support to our IT Help Desk team at the direction of the IT Help Desk Manager to ensure excellent customer service and resolve all workstation, accessory and connectivity issues. This position will be responsible workstation and connectivity problem escalation and coordinate with the Systems Administrator and Director of IT for technical strategies. The TS will coach IT Help Desk technicians on effective methods to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Will also utilize ticketing systems and tools to identify, document, track and resolve IT issues. Additionally, this position requires a hands-on technical leader who is responsible for delivering a world class support experience for all members of NEVHC. The Technical Specialist will work closely the IT Help Desk Manager and IT management to implement strategic goals and objectives.

Reports to: IT Helpdesk Manager

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required

2. Certification a plus on: ITIL Foundation, CompTIA, Network , and HDI-CSR.

3. A working knowledge of VMWare VSphere Data Center Certification or appropriate work experience a plus.

4. Two or more years of work experience providing technology support both on-site and remote

5. Strong technical background.

6. Strong customer service skills.

7. Thorough working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and contemporary general office practices and procedures.

8. Math skills sufficient to prepare routine spreadsheets, calculate/balance invoices/expense reports, and similar.

9. Basic leadership skills.

10. Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems.

11. Typing/data entry skills sufficient to meet production requirements.

12. Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and others.

13. Weekday hours with flexible evening and weekend work hours rotation

14. Self-motivated and able to work with limited direct supervision

15. Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.

16. Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.

17. Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).

18. Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).

19. Ability to solve problems and make routine recommendations.

20. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality about health care and other patient/client information.

21. Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).
