Description

As a full member of Northeast Treatment Center’s (NET’s) Integrated Community Wellness Center (ICWC), the Adult Case Management intern provide support and encouragement to individuals with a range of behavioral health challenges as well as substance use issues. A case manager intern works with individual clients to help them learn to be independent people within the community. They also help clients get connected to services such as: SSI, Welfare, Compass insurance, Community Legal Aide, Primary Care Physicians and Specialty doctors. The Intern Case Manager works closely with program staff, clinicians, social workers, and outreach staff.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Intern will shadow Case Managers in the field and in the office to get a better understanding of how our program works.
  • Interns will provide resource information to individuals in every phase of case management throughout our three case management programs.
  • Interns will spend time in each program within ICWC to gain knowledge of our integrated Community Wellness Center and how each program contributes to the client's recovery.
  • Interns will be respectful of clients and staff and will demonstrate professionalism and compassion when dealing with clients or staff.
  • Interns will assist clients in discovering their personal interests, strengths, weaknesses to provide clarity for planning. 
  •  Promote self-advocacy by assisting people to take back their voice in service planning and ultimately life.
  • Support connections to community based, self-help groups.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and training for this position.
  • Interns will learn how to do our intake and assessment paperwork and a Personal Goal Plan with the client.
  • Interns will learn to meet the client where they are and understand the importance in doing so.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • The Intern case manager must demonstrate an ability to share personal experiences and support a services user’s integration into the communities of his/her choice. 
  • Ability to exhibit a nonjudgmental approach and to be an effective listener. Must be able to work with service users who are diverse, including diversity of age, gender and gender identity, race religion, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI clearance and Criminal Check Clearance required.
  • Pre-employment physical and TB test required.
  • Must have the flexibility with schedule
  • Adhere to applicable city, county, state and federal laws and regulations, internal and CARF standards.
