Art Teacher - School at Northeast - Schenectady

**Sign On Bonus $5,000** (paid in 2 parts 1/2 at 30 days and1/2 at a year)

As an Art Teacher, you will provide art education that follows the NYS standards to children grades K-12. You will report to the Assistant Principal (principal) and you will work onsite.

Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize art materials and equipment,
Provide therapeutic art instruction to individuals, small groups, and classrooms,
Provide leadership in a variety of school-wide art events and activities,
Work with school administration to deliver art experiences to students in a variety of school-wide venues on the agency campus,
Provide subject area instruction (Art) that follows the NYS K-12 Art Curricula and provides students with appropriate level art lessons and age experiences.
Develop and implement art instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels grades K-12.
Provide leadership in the school for promoting Art activities and experiences for students. Work with teachers to encourage classroom, small group, and individual art activities, projects, and events.
Follow school and agency procedures and policies for reporting incidents. This includes behavior incident reports (IR) and incidents such as child/sexual abuse, substance abuse, harassment, bullying, and violence.
Follow all Agency policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.
Provide leadership to assigned teacher assistants in the various clerical and non-instructional duties or needed for your classroom.
Requirements and Education:
Masters/Bachelor's degree in Art Education
NYS certification in Art Education
