Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District 2021 is Hiring a Project Controls Paraprofessional Intern Near Cleveland, OH

Job Summary: The intern will assist with various projects throughout the assignment, including, but not limited to:

Project Title: Project Controls

Project Description: Assist Project Controls Team with associated project schedules reports and analysis for the capital projects of the District’s Engineering and Construction programs.

  • Assist Project Controls Team in reviewing schedule, budget, and cost data for capital projects.
  • Assist in the project monthly update for capital projects.

2. Project Title: CIP program management

Project Description: Assist Project Controls Team with monthly CIP program financial data input. Including:

  • Collect and review project financial data.
  • Assist Cost Engineer and Project Controls with daily tasks.
  • Revise and update project financial information as needed
  • Load project documents into project sites
  • Participate in automated process workflows per defined roles.
  • Perform searches and retrieve information from the document management system.

3. Project Title: Project Management

Project Description: Assist Project Controls Manager in the development of scope, schedule, budget and cost data for capital projects. *This project will likely commence upon successfully performing tasks related to projects one and two.

  • Assist with reviewing submitted progress schedules for compliance with District’s guidelines.
  • Assist Project Controls Manager in evaluation of schedule status and provide recommendations to address schedule deficiencies or expedite schedules.
  • Assist with assembling and compiling schedule and cost data, and input into the Project Controls Systems to ensure appropriate status of projects.
  • Assist with analyzing schedules for reasonableness compared to project scope and progress.
  • Assist in preparing status reports and other related project planning and control documentation, as requested.

4. Project Title: Project Planning

Project Description: Assist Planning Team with CIP validation financial data modification and MCIP program data input. Including:

  • Review and escalate project financial data
  • Provide proposed project budget in the spreadsheet for review
  • Assist with CIP cashflow graphing and report
  • Revise and update project financial information as needed
  • Assist project engineer with MCIP program data validation
  • Input revised MCIP community datasheet in the system

5. Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Requirements:

Academic Status/Standing:

Candidate must be enrolled in school or must have graduated within 24 months from the date of application.

Field of Study:

Declared Majors: Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field of study.

Degree Program Levels:

Any of the following degree program levels may qualify

  • Associate Degree
  • Bachelor Degree (Freshman - Senior)
  • Master/Doctoral Degree
  • High School Advanced Placement Examinations and Technical/Trade School will also be considered

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must be able to work 20 - 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday – Friday during normal business hours. Work hours will be adjusted as appropriate for interns who are enrolled in school.
  • Candidate must be able to commit to up to a 12-month assignment with an option to extend the assignment at NEORSD’s discretion. This internship program provides for a time-limited role at NEORSD with no express or implied guarantee of future employment beyond the assignment period. This position is governed by all applicable NEORSD administrative policies, practices and procedures related to temporary employees.
