Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for Quality Control testing of all manufactured products. Assists the QA/QC Officer with various tasks such as data entry, sample storage, document retention, etc. to ensure Quality Control Lab operations are in full compliance. May also assist with investigations into nonconformance's or complaints. Able to perform tasks as outlined in established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in accordance with established Safety guidelines.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs quality control testing of manufactured products.
• Performs preventative maintenance & calibration of QC equipment as required.
• Performs daily checks for temperature-controlled areas.
• Performs additional testing as needed for customer complaints, CAPA, or process evaluation as needed.
• Performs environmental testing of certified clean rooms.
• Performs transfer stable of stock organisms to fresh plates.
• Records & maintains all data pertaining to quality control testing & product manufacture.
• Reviews product documentation for errors.
• Examines Biological indicators daily.
• Assists in maintenance of retention samples.
• Assists with daily filing as needed.
• Makes recommendations for improvements to processes or productivity.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 30 lbs. to chest height.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field.

Experience:

• One (1) year experience in a Microbiology, Clinical or Quality Control Laboratory is preferred but not required.
• Experience with lab safety and pathogen testing, coliform counts, total aerobic plate counts, and several methods for enumeration yeasts and molds is desirable.

Alternate:

• High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of relevant experience.
• Post high school education in relevant studies will also be considered.

Other:

• Must have basic computer skills and be able to document work with accuracy.
• Must be detail oriented and possess good communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to understand good laboratory technique or aseptic technique.
• Knowledge of USP, BAM and AOAC methods are desirable but not required.

Schedule is 0700 – 1300 Sunday and 0700 – 1600 Monday through Thursday.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
