Northeast Kingdom Human Services is Hiring a CCBHC Peer Support Specialist - Derby & St. Johnsbury Near Derby, VT

The Peer Support Professional provides peer and recovery support services to CRT consumers, and assists consumers in development and adherence to recovery and crisis plans.

20 hours per week. Travel required between Derby and St. Johnsbury sites.

Essential Tasks/Functions/Responsibilities

  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, (or flexible hours) per consumer program need.
  • Complete all documentation required in a timely manner and according to all Agency, State & Federal regulations
  • Effectively communicate across all programs, divisions, departments when necessary.
  • Provide positive coaching and supervision, and training to individuals who are experiencing a need for higher level of support in community setting.
  • Provide skill training, supervision, and coaching (as needed) in vocational settings to enable individuals to obtain and retain employment.
  • Provide skills training in all activities of daily living, and employment, as defined in the individual's Individual Plan of Care.
  • Advocate and assist individuals with relating to family, community and others in a competent and respectful manner. Facilitate valued social roles, and relationships.
  • Develop natural supports in the community and work sites.
  • May be directed by a licensed nurse to dispense medication and must be delegated by licensed personnel to do so.
  • Maintain strict consumer confidentiality in accordance with Federal Confidentiality Regulations (42 CFR Part 2 as amended), NKHS policies, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Utilize computers and available technology within the NKHS system, i.e., charting assessment results, reports, progress notes, and time sheets in a timely manner as identified by the supervisor, in accordance with state, federal, and program regulations and guidelines.
  • Provide service documentation to support Medicaid billing
  • Any special projects as requested.

Education/Training/Skill Requirements

  • Lived experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated success working on an integrated care team.
  • Ability to provide professional, confidential services to families and function in a fast-paced environment.
