Northeast Iowa Community College is Hiring a Program Developer (EMS/Fire) Near Calmar, IA

Perform administrative duties to ensure that EMS and Fire programs operate effectively and efficiently. A cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic approach when carrying out job duties and working with members of the college staff, students, clients, and the public.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. District-wide coordination, development, implementation and operations of non-credit EMS courses including: room reservations in Ad Astra; order and inventory of supplies; utilization of the print shops; oversight of class totes; class entry into Lumens; class monitoring; marketing/promotions; oversight of securing and transporting equipment; and class close out procedures.
2. District-wide coordination, development, implementation, and set-up of Firearms Simulator training including: room reservations in Ad Astra; order and inventory of supplies; utilization of the print shops; oversight of class totes; class entry into Lumens; class monitoring; marketing/promotions; oversight of securing and transporting equipment; and class close out procedures.
3. Works with college Compliance Director to assure all EMS students are on track with requirements.
4. Perform administrative duties to ensure the EMS, Firearms Simulator operate effectively and efficiently.
5. Actively participate on the EMS faculty meetings and EMS advisory board meetings.
6. Participate in the State EMS Training Program meetings.
7. Attend County EMS Association meetings.
8. Lead and coordinate changes in curriculum and exams for the EMR, EMT, and AEMT and communicate to all instructors on implementation.
9. Demonstrates active participation in and achievement of the objectives and activities of the College Strategic Plan and BCS Goals.
10. Hire, recruit, supervise, and evaluate continuing education instructors appropriate to the assigned areas. Process hiring paper work,
11. Oversight of financial management of programs, including projected budget and analysis of income, fees and expenses at program conclusion.
12. Incorporate emerging technologies for distance learning, including: online courses, satellite, web-based programming, Internet, and Iowa Communications Network into program areas as appropriate.
13. Coordinate and facilitate arrangements for EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Firearms Simulator
14. Organize and facilitate EMS orientations
15. Maintain awareness of community interest and needs in the emergency service.
16. Establish professional relationships with area healthcare agencies.
17. Maintain statistics of clinical rotations for EMT students.
18. Works to network with Supervisor and the Dean of Allied Health with the merged Credit- Noncredit classes and any student issues.
19. Assist in the development and coordination of corporate contract training related to EMS and Fire
20. Coordinate, implement, and serve as oversight for EMT National Psychomotor exams.
21. Develop and coordinate re-licensure and re-certification class and trainings for EMS.
22. Development and operations for the Tri-State Emergency Responders Conference.
23. Develop 30-Hour EMT Refresher course.
24. Develop and coordinate programs as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Paramedic required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
2. Shall be qualified through education and experience.
3. Strong interpersonal skills; personal flexibility and creativity; demonstrated management and/or community organizing experience; excellent public relations skills
4. Candidate should possess excellent communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, enjoy working in a fast paced environment, and have an outgoing, enthusiastic, and positive personality.
5. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and electronic communication.
6. Excellent organization, detail, and customer service skills are essential.
7. Must possess the ability and willingness to work cooperatively with other internal and external partners to create positive, successful EMS programming.
CERTIFICATIONSANDLICENSES:
Must possess a valid driver’s license. Paramedic certification, Iowa EMS instructor endorsement within 6 months of hire.
