Reach Academy is a Christian summer camp program that offers Fun Activities, Faith-Based Learning and a Friendly Environment to engage today’s Youth’s dynamic mind.
Our Mission is simple Reaching Youth…Teaching Truth
We are seeking Summer Camp Counselors who can engage and lead children and/or youth in various fun-filled mental and physical activities. The desired individuals must be a born-again believer with a strong ability to connect with children, youth and/or teens.
Responsibilities Include:
· Enforces camp rules and regulations and ensures safety in the recreational facilities
· Greets new arrivals and introduces them to other campers; explains camp rules
· Report’s camper complaints to leadership and works to resolve issues
· Plans, leads, and implements camp programs for children
· Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants
· Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being
· Maintains a schedule for camp participants
· Facilitates and assist with the creating lesson plans for daily activities
· Organizes and leads various small and large group activities
· Ensures the cleanliness of the camp facility
· Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance
· Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program
· Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are distributed to them
· Mediates any campers’ disputes
· Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program
· Ability to always maintain a loving order and discipline with children
· Encouraging participation and positive attitudes, and communicating with staff, parents, and co-workers regularly.
· Promoting Reach Academy’s vision, values, and culture
· Participating in pre-camp/post-camp meetings and other meetings as required by the Academy Director
· Expected to maintain high Christian values and professional integrity in order to provide an example and encouragement for the children and families of our community
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Education and experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, working with children, or in a related field preferred.
· Experience leading children in an organized environment preferred
· Familiar with Church and Christian values
· Enjoys working with children: Pre-K– 12th grade
· Available to work: Orientation May 28th - May 31st; June 3rd – July 26th, 2024
· Physically fit and able to work outdoors majority of the day
· Exceptional interpersonal and relational skills, with sensitivity to children, families, visitors, and co-workers
· Timeliness, organization, and attentiveness are absolutely essential
· Must attend and complete all required training prior to first day of camp
· Enthusiastic and positive attitude.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Enjoys being in the company of children
· Previous camp experience preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
