Transition Technician

Job Description:

The Transition Technician will work as part of a team of hard working, self-motivated individuals to help ensure that all transitional duties/tasks are completed and correct in a timely manner.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work within a large-scale, production facility with a wide array of supplemental lighting.
  • Perform/supervise all required duties in the Transition Department, including the following areas of production: assist in harvesting, cleaning, transplanting, feeding plants, waste disposal, and inventory management.
  • Follow a base of successful Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
  • Operate heavy and light horticultural equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to industry standards and waste disposal procedures set forth by regulatory agencies.
  • Aid in oversight of the completion of operations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Quantify and qualify data regularly, while following SOP and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity records and operation logs as directed using designated software.
  • Insect detection, identification techniques, and general crop scouting.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the Transitional area of the facility.
  • Coordinate and execute field operations efficiently and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and employees.
  • Contribute to a fun, team-oriented, and challenging work environment in an innovative and pioneering atmosphere.
  • Contribute and improve upon already-existing operations and processes to improve work-flow, efficiency, and provide constructive feedback and recommendations.
  • Comply with all HR policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
  • Facility maintenance and trouble-shooting as necessary.
  • Regular attendance is expected and is considered an essential function necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to plan ahead, trouble-shoot, anticipate problems, and problem solve.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a time.
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a large-scale grow warehouse.

Education and Experience:

  • Must already possess or be able to qualify to work in Mass. Cannabis industry and be 21 years of age or older.
  • Preferred Massachusetts residency.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes.
  • Ability to perform manual labor.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Walking long distances and traveling up flights of stairs.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
