North Texas Area Community Health Centers is Hiring a Perinatal Community Health Educator Near Fort Worth, TX

  • Implement educational programs and workshops on perinatal health, childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery.
  • Provide ongoing follow-up, basic motivational interviewing, and goal setting with patients/families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, community organizations, and support groups to enhance access to perinatal education and resources.
  • Conduct individualized education, assessments to identify the educational needs of pregnant women and develop tailored educational materials and resources.
  • Facilitate support groups, workshops, and discussion sessions to foster peer support and sharing of experiences among expectant mothers.
  • Offer assistance with newborn care, including feeding, diapering, bathing, and soothing techniques.
  • Stay updated on current research, guidelines, state & federal regulations, and best practices in perinatal health education and integrate new knowledge into educational programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of educational sessions, participant demographics, and program outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  • Collaborate in team meetings, professional development activities, and community outreach events to promote perinatal health awareness and education.
  • Participate in community outreach activities, health fairs, and public health campaigns to raise awareness and promote access to healthcare services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, Education, or related field.
  • Doula Certified is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of prenatal and postnatal care, and child development.
  • Previous experience working with mothers, children and / or families.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a community health clinic is a plus.
  • Three plus years of experience with the knowledge of prenatal and postnatal care, childbirth techniques, breastfeeding support, and infant care practices.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive education and support to expectant mothers and their families during the perinatal period, including pregnancy, childbirth, and up to a year into postpartum. Your primary duties will be delivering educational programs, conducting individual and group education sessions, and facilitating discussions on various topics related to perinatal health and wellness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal and child health, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be passionate about promoting the well-being of mothers and babies. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in a team-based environment.
