POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance worker is responsible for the daily maintenance of the facility which includes general upkeep of the grounds, aquatic attractions, program schedule coordination, maintaining preventative maintenance schedules, and conducting repair work involving minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry or HVAC as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Help maintain good working condition of all buildings, pools, grounds and vehicle fleet

2. Perform general maintenance, repairs and upgrades of facilities and grounds, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC. Assures all work is completed safely, on-schedule and according to specification.

3. Ensure that all areas of the building are kept clean & sanitized and in proper working condition at all times to insure the best customer service experience possible.

4. Ensure all mechanicals are performing properly. Prior experience with boilers, recreational pool maintenance, carpentry, plumbing or HVAC components is highly encouraged to be successful in this position

5. Must be able to problem solve; independently or as a part of a team.

6. Read, know, follow and enforce emergency procedures, YMCA policies, rules, and health codes applicable to the facility.

7. Willingness to learn, Be coachable

8. Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, walk for prolonged periods of time, work on ladders safely, work with power/ hand tools, lift and carry 50lbs, set up table’s rooms for events

9. Prior knowledge of proper PPE usage is a plus

10. Help with special events.

11. Attend meetings as directed by the supervisor.
