We are seeking a General Laborer to join the night shift team at Bayou Processing & Storage in east Houston. The General Laborer is responsible for all packaging material tasks. Responsibilities:Coordinates with the packaging lead on all aspects of packaging requirements from work orderMonitors and reports any shortage of packaging suppliesLearns all customer packaging requirementsCoordinates with the packaging leaf on where to stage finished materialUnloads and tags material after checking the width using a measuring tapePackages all materials to the correct specificationsFacilitates the flow of paperwork from slitter operations to inventory control for timely data entryResponds to all requests and reporting requirements promptlyEnsures that materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouseUnderstands, clearly articulates, and enforces all company policies and proceduresTakes immediate action to correct all non-conformance and damage issuesReports all safety violations or unsafe work conditions to managementIdentifies process deficiencies and reports to managementAttends and leads all required training and safety sessionsAssists in other areas of the operation when requiredQualifications:Professional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to maintain confidentiality and work independentlyGood judgment and decision-making skillsBenefits:North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
