The CAD Drafter reports to the Product Manager and prepares drawings and creates CNC nests for the production team.Responsibilities:Interprets customer-supplied drawingsConverts customer-supplied PDF drawings to SolidWorks filesCreates CNC nests in PrimeCut and ProNest for burn tablesBuilds detailed structural part drawings in TeklaGenerates drawings for estimating purposes as requiredMaintains backup files of all drawings and CNC nestsUpdates software packages as applicable Verifies that NSS drawings match customer specificationsQualifications:5 years of related CAD and nesting experience in the metal service industry, working with SolidWorks, ProNest, PrimecutProficient in the use of SolidWorks, Tekla, Primecut, and ProNestKnowledge of CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting capabilities (Messer, Kinetic, etc.) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong multitasking skills and attention to detailGood judgment and decision-making skillsProfessional communication and interpersonal skillsBenefits:North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
