North Shore Christian School is Hiring a Director of Advancement (Administrator) Near Lynn, MA

Primary Overview
As a member of the Senior Administrative Leadership Team (SALT), the Director of Advancement will work in conjunction with assigned Board committees and other NSCS Administration. The Director of Advancement will report to the Head of School.

The Director of Advancement will work closely with the Head of School, Senior Administrative Leadership Team, and other key members of the school community to execute the School's annual fundraising plan across and through multiple mediums and channels. The Director of Advancement will seek to broaden the school’s donor-base and work closely with the Head of School, creating opportunities for relationship-building for the Head of School with new donors. The Director of Advancement will organize, execute, and drive capital campaigns as defined.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain internal and external communications with donors.
  • Initiate and oversee innerworkings of Annual Campaign.
  • Execute silent campaigning to better understand capacity and will inform the Head of School as to areas of needs and support needed to ensure fundraising goals are met.
  • Organize, execute, and drive capital campaign/s.
  • Initiate community engagement to build and strengthen relationships with existing and potential donors and/or sponsors and elevate the School's profile to advance the school's mission.
  • Assist the Head Of School in the cultivation of major gifts and planned giving opportunities, including research and management of prospective individual and corporate donors and grants.
  • Maintain and update the FACTS Giving database and ensure the proper receiving, allocating, recording, and acknowledgement of all donations.
  • Submit regular reports/metrics to the Head of School on donor cultivation, solicitation, and giving.
  • Submit monthly Board Reports to Board of Directors.
General Administrative Duties
  • Attend academic and/or programming functions that are School-Sponsored, as appropriate to the job responsibilities.
  • Work in conjunction with the Development Committee and collaborate with SALT.
  • Oversee the Development budget.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

  • At certain times, the employee may be asked to attend special staff meetings throughout the year. Every effort will be made to provide employees with a week’s notice so that they may coordinate their schedules accordingly.
  • The employee is expected to participate in and assist with re-enrollment and retention efforts.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, and a degree in related field is preferred.
  • Willingness to achieve professional development and/or further education to support role if needed and/or requested by the Head of School.
  • Demonstrated excellence in creative organizational, managerial, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Aptitude for technology and its application.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment.
  • Ability to think creatively and in the best interest of the School.
  • Ability to initiate, organize, and execute fundraisers.
