North Olympic Healthcare Network is Hiring a Dental Assistant Lead Near Port Angeles, WA

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee and supervise daily operations of dental assistants
  • Plan, monitor, and update dental assistant monthly schedule as needed
  • Oversee inventory order management
  • Designated Epic Superuser – participate in all necessary Epic trainings related to upgrades or operational changes
  • Provide education, coaching, training DA’s as needed
  • Designate available walk-in time slots for the clinic’s daily schedule, as well as coordinate with dentists throughout the day for any potential midday schedule changes to minimize impact on clinic
  • Participate in recruitment and interview panels for PSRs and Dental Assistants.
  • Oversee dental assistant trainees and sign off on their training completion
  • Main point of contact of dental clinic for Stericycle, Olympic Laundry, Jim’s Pharmacy, Central Welding
  • Second point of contact for Burkhart
  • Weekly touch base with clinic manager regarding clinic – schedule, team, etc.
  • Participate in monthly provider meetings as needed
  • Participate in any necessary meetings, committees, etc.
  • Collaborate with other staff, managers and leadership as needed.
  • Prepares the patient for dental visit
  • Prepares treatment area for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
  • Provides instrumentation to treatment area; positioning instruments, suctioning, passing instruments etc
  • Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
  • Taking patients medical history and vitals when needed
  • Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
  • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control and postoperative instructions
  • Taking impressions of patients’ teeth when needed
  • Assists in maintaining dental supply inventory in the department
  • Assists dental providers in managing dental emergencies
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and policies
  • Assisting with scheduling, phones and patient check-in when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Operational Excellence

  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed

Relationship Management

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all departments in the organization and community partners

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • High school graduate required or GED equivalent.

Qualifications and Key Skills

  • Licensed dental assistant in the State of Washington required
  • Current BLS certification
  • Previous supervisory experience a plus
  • Ability to be flexible in workday and multi-task
  • Patient focused
  • Organized and efficient in daily work and tasks
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to create and foster a collaborative team environment
  • Create and maintain a positive culture
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and principles of the organization
