Job Location: Day Services/Admin Services - Westminster, CO
Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.55
Job Shift: Part-Time Days

*North Metro Community Services requires the COVID-19 vaccination for new employees and will consider requests for accommodations for medical/disability and religious-based reasons*

Hiring Range: $17.25- 19.80 per hour depending on experience

A Brief Overview
Responsible for providing support to adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities by presenting opportunities to access the community, creating a positive environment, and assisting with daily living activities.

What would you do in this position?

  • Transport people safely to and from the Day Program and community activities in a company vehicle
  • Provide opportunities for community access by attending and participating in community activities and events
  • Support daily living needs, including eating, hygiene, toileting, and more
  • Assist in planning community activities and events
  • Perform one-on-one visits at people's houses
  • Clean and sanitize a multitude of surfaces and locations
  • Complete paperwork required by department accurately and records in department database
  • Distribute medication to people safely and accurately
  • Communicate clearly with others in a respectful and professional manner
  • Assist people with mobility and transfer according to safety protocols
  • Host and participate in virtual gatherings

Training:
NMCS provides extensive and ongoing training for all of our Direct Support Professionals. Employees are paid to attend these trainings at no cost to them. A list of trainings provided includes, but is not limited to:

  • CPR and First Aid
  • QMAP certification (Medication Administration)
  • Safety Care certification 
  • Person centered thinking
  • Driving and vehicle safety
  • Shadowing shifts with veteran staff and supervisors


What education or experience would you need?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Drivers License required

What knowledge, skills, or abilities would you need?

  • Ability to communicate clearly in oral and written forms
  • Ability to use a computer and a tablet
  • Ability to use office equipment such as fax machine, scanner, copier, phone
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Analytical thinking skills to solve routine problems using common sense
  • Basic ability to drive a large passenger van
  • Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word
  • Basic time management skills
  • Basic use of virtual meeting tools
