About this position
Maintains a quality product by inspecting, cleaning, needed maintenance, correct assembling and packaging of surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.Under limited supervision, performs work in a technical support position involving sterile processing and dispensing of supplies and equipment needed for patient care. Ensures departmental standards for quality and productivity are maintained. Performs sterile processing and distribution functions within the Central Processing Department. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate.
CBSPD/HPSA certification is required. Meets all requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician II positions for job codes: 45410001 or 454210001.
Requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Meets all requirements of the Sterile Processing Technician II positions for job codes: 45410001 or 454210001.
- Actively working as a Sterile Processing Technician with three (3) or more years of experience.
- Knowledge of basic instruments, common medical abbreviations, and basic medical terminology
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and work as a team to provide exceptional customer service.
- Proficient in oral and written communication using English with skills sufficient to perform functions of position
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to perform manual inspection, assembly and packaging methods for sterilization
- Possess basic computer usage and skills
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to operate automated SPD equipment
Licensure/Certification
- CRCST/CBSPD/HSPA is required.
