North Florida Kidney Care is Hiring a Full Time Medical Assistant Near Lake, FL

We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Assistant (MA) to join the amazing team at our North Florida Kidney Care located in Lake City, FL.

North Florida Kidney Care, LLC is composed of qualified and experienced Nephrologists who provide comprehensive renal care to the community. Our experienced Nephrologists and staff provide the best possible medical care and treat each patient with compassion, concern and support. We work extremely hard to be trusted by our patients, colleagues, and healthcare partners in the community to offer the utmost nephrology care.

We currently have three offices throughout North Central Florida (Gainesville, Palatka and Lake City)

We are looking for an individual with a passion for helping others to join our team. Minimum of 2 years customer service experience preferred. Candidate should be an effective communicator with strong multi-tasking skills. Our practice offers competitive pay and excellent benefits.

Full-time, immediate hire.

Training will be held in our Gainesville and Palatka location, once training is finished the position will be held in our Lake City location.

Essential Functions:

Patient Care and Flow Management:

  • Escort patients to examination rooms, establishing a well-organized and speedy patient flow.
  • Document patient data accurately to provide comprehensive medical records.
  • Document data with accuracy and efficiency, with an average data entry speed of 40 words per minute making sure that all information is up to date and easily accessible for providers.
  • Write, mail, and provide patients with lab orders and or help them if the lab doesn’t receive orders on time.
  • Obtained patient vitals through triage, contributing to patient assessment and care planning.
  • Took charge of scheduling patient appointments and ordering necessary lab tests.
  • Assist with charting patient information, verifying accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Clean and organized patient rooms, updated care plans, and recorded patient histories to support comprehensive care delivery.

Provider Support and Discharge Instructions:

  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures,
  • Provided clear discharge instructions to patients, ensuring they understood post-visit care.

Pharmacy Coordination and Office Supplies:

  • Assist patients with prescription refills, communicating effectively with pharmacies via fax and phone.
  • Monitor and replenished office supplies promptly, while also assisting in equipment maintenance under supervision.

Billing, Payment, and Insurance Assistance:

  • billing and payment processes, including assistance with insurance verification, copay at time of visit and bill information for patients.

Administrative Expertise:

  • Strong data entry skills, effectively managing electronic medical records (EMR) and other systems.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of Dr. on call, handling an average of 50 incoming calls per day with professionalism and providing friendly customer service, resulting in high patient satisfaction scores.
  • Ability to utilize digital forms of nonverbal communication and cloud suites like google suites.

Operational Management:

  • Successfully managed day-to-day operations for an on-call physician, showcasing strong organizational skills.
  • Directed phone calls with a friendly and professional demeanor and managed incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Ability to work under little to no supervision providing patient assistance at a timely manner, helping them find solutions with tools in hands for medications, visits, faxes, drs offices and more.
  • Communicate with other Dr offices in a professional manner
  • Send and receive patient chart request and referrals submitting and scheduling in a timely manner

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
