North Dakota State Government is Hiring a Triage Specialist Near Minot, ND

NCHSC – Minot, ND – Triage Specialist

Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.

As a Triage Specialist, you will provide immediate services to individuals walking into the local Human Service Center requesting services. You will provide initial assessment of complex situations related to behavioral health disorders. You will complete screening and functional assessments, and complete referrals based on those assessments. You will also provide short-term case management and crisis intervention services.

You will thrive in this position, if you are knowledgeable about resources offered in your community and enjoy a fast-paced environment that focuses on meeting the immediate needs of the individuals served.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have a bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines: social work or counseling; and two years of professional therapeutic counseling experience; or a master's degree in one of the listed fields. Applicants must also be licensed in ND as a LCSW, LPCC, LMSW, LPC, LAPC, or LBSW. Prefer master’s degree.

If unable to find qualified candidates, will consider filling as an B Mod with a reduced starting salary. A B Mod requires a master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science or communication disorders. Or a bachelors’ degree in one of the above fields and two years of work experience in the respective discipline.

Behavior Modification Attestation Form may be required based on degree and/or licensure.

This position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
