North Dakota State Government is Hiring a Surveillance and Transport Officer Near Jamestown, ND

The mission of the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCR) is transforming lives, influencing change, strengthening community. To accomplish this mission, the ND DOCR utilizes more than 100 different job classifications or type of work. Our employees provide many different services to a diverse correctional population of juveniles and adults, such as therapeutic rehabilitation, medical care, physical plant services, education, information technology, and a variety of correctional security and law enforcement jobs responsible for security and management of individuals in the custody of the DOCR.

The ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (ND DOCR), Parole and Probation Division is looking for a Part-Time Surveillance Officer in Jamestown, ND. This position assists with supervision of clients, conducts compliance checks on clients at their residence and/or place of employment, enforces drug court conditions and makes arrests when warranted.

The position is part-time, withFLEXIBLEhours, located in Jamestown, ND. Starting salary is $19.00/hour working approximately ten hours per month. Although this position is designated as temporary, it is on-going in duration. Join our team today!

Duties and Tasks

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist on-call officers with responding to incidents
  • Guard clients in hospital and psychiatric settings as needed
  • Maintain collateral contact with other appropriate people concerning the progress of the client
  • Conduct unscheduled home visits with client either day or night
  • Make contact with client and collateral agencies as directed by supervising officer
  • Conduct onsite screenings to include drug tests and breathalyzers
  • Document client contacts in chronological notes
  • Conducting arrests of client pursuant to a warrant or at direction of supervising officer
  • Conduct search of client’s person, vehicle or residence
  • Testify in court when necessary
  • Staff offender progress with supervising officer as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must possess and maintain a North Dakota Peace Officer license, firearms certification and training hours on an annual basis as required by the division to maintain the duties as a Surveillance Officer. Must be a licensed peace officer prior to hire.
