Job Summary:
The North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund in Bismarck, ND, an EOE, is seeking a highly motivated individual as a Claims Adjuster. This position requires a varying amount of overnight travel and will be responsible for the processing and resolving of claims, conducting on-site investigations, and writing property and auto estimates. In addition, this role will perform a variety of administrative tasks to support the claim function.

Duties:
- Handle multi-line claims

- Investigate insurance claims to determine the extent of liability
- Negotiate settlements with claimants or their legal representatives
- Analyze documentation, such as contracts, police reports, and medical records, to assess claim validity, interview claimant(s) and witnesses
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process
- Organize and prioritize workload effectively

Skills:
- Ability to negotiate effectively with various parties
- Ability to understand insurance policies, legal interpretations, regulations, and standards,
- Excellent people and time management skills
- Requires attention to detail
- Familiarity with auto estimating software is a plus
- Advanced skills in the use of computers and computer software
- Excellent analytical skills to assess claim validity
- Organizational skills to manage multiple claims efficiently
