North Dakota Department of Health & Human Services is Hiring a Direct Support Professional Dakota East Near Grafton, ND

As a Direct Support Professional, you will help people at the Life Skills & Transition Center in Grafton at the Dakota East Day Program. Where we teach people of all ages with disabilities on how to reach their goals at home, work, and in social life to move into a community-based setting. 

You will help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in learning new skills for work, home, recreation, and leisure activities. You will work with a team to help assess people’s life skills along with likes and dislikes, to help develop meaningful work, social activities and relationships that suit each person’s needs in a positive way. Dakota East Day Program encourages people to join in community activities through work and volunteering. 

To thrive in this position, you will need be able to move from one task to another quickly, have strong customer relation skills and not afraid to try new things. 

To be considered for this position, you need to have a high school diploma or GED AND two years of experience working with people that have intellectually and developmental disabilities.
