Summary of Work

As a Licensed Addiction Counselor with the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team to conduct assessments and referrals, facilitate evidence-based programming and individual counseling, provide case management, crisis intervention, and group therapeutic counseling services to individuals, families, and clients at our correctional facilities. These services include the assessment and treatment of complex cases such as mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.

Minimum Qualifications

Addiction Counselor I - Requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, AND current licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. Starting Salary: $6,067

Addiction Counselor II - Requires a bachelor's degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, Licensure as an Addiction Counselor (LAC) by the ND Board of Addition Counseling Examiners, and Two years of experience as a Licensed Addiction Counselor. A Master's Degree in one of the majors listed above will substitute for one year of experience. Only professional-level addiction counselor experience in a private or public facility is qualifying and given credit. Starting Salary: $6,203
