North Dakota Board of Medicine is Hiring a Credentialing Specialist - Licensing and Case Investigator Near Bismarck, ND

Minimum Qualifications:

An associate degree with major coursework in business and information technology. Must possess excellent computer and organizational skills, ability to apply knowledge of statutes and licensing requirements in oral and written communications, excellent customer services skills, the ability to think independently and multitask, and be flexible when priorities change. Required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals and entities. Must be proficient in Adobe Pro and Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and possess the ability to learn to navigate the Board’s database. Preferred candidate will have data software, professional licensing, and criminal justice education or experience. Preference will be given to those holding a bachelor’s degree with the above coursework.

Job Titles and Descriptions:

Credentialing Specialist – Licensing Investigation Officer: Will be responsible for processing incoming applications and renewal applications for physicians and other professions regulated by the Board. This requires independent examination to thoroughly analyze, review, and evaluate applications within appropriate timeframes – determining all qualifications are received and complete – in compliance with applicable law, rules, and Board policies. Will need to spot and effectively communicate with applicants and various other entities any discrepancies or missing information. Will thoroughly review and investigate any derogatory information contained within the application and renewals. Must be able to quickly and thoroughly respond to applicants’ questions about all aspects of licensing and renewal. Attention to detail is a must to ensure all required criteria are provided and meet licensure standards.

Certified Board Investigator: Will be responsible for aiding the Executive Director in investigating complaints for discipline of all licensees. Must be able to extract and utilize facts from a variety of sources and apply relevant statutes, rules, and policies to prepare clear, accurate, unbiased, and quality investigatory reports within specified time frames. Individual will be required to maintain strict confidentiality concerning all investigative matters. Individual will be required to attend various trainings to become a board-certified investigator.

IT and Administrative Support: Will be responsible for providing IT support to the office including aid in updating the Board’s website and database and aid in addressing and implementing updated IT security measures.

Must possess skills in data entry, database management and word processing, proofreading, research, as well as written and oral communication skills are mandatory. You will be trained on the Board’s database and will be responsible for maintaining and updating data entry into the database.

This position provides administrative support – including responding to correspondence and answering the phone. Individual will commit to satisfying internal and external customers by responding to requests in a timely manner, proactively identifying licensee needs and working to resolve complaints. Will be required to explain licensure statutes, rules, requirements, procedures, and Board policies in response to inquiries.

Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Will be required to work well with others and contribute to the team as a whole and achieve collective goals. Various training opportunities are available to grow the position as the work of the Board evolves.
