Parts Manager

North Central Utility (NCU) is one of the largest semi-trailer dealers in the world helping support the transportation industry and the critical movement of goods. A large portion of our business helps support refrigerated carriers that transport temperature-sensitive food and materials throughout North American.

JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Parts Manager, you are on the front line of our business setting profit and growth objectives, increasing sales and profit margins, and controlling expenses.

JOB DETAILS:

• Utilize above-average computer skills to review inventory and sales reports, monitor your branch inventory, sales, and expense performance
• Manage outside sales, counter sales, warehouse, and delivery personnel.
• Work with other department managers to provide superior communication and teamwork between departments, within your branch, as well as companywide
• Hire and train parts personnel in department procedures, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
• Prevent team work-related injuries by training proper parts department operation procedures and safety standards.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of your team - motivating your team to exceed goals.
• Attend regular management meetings (virtual, local, regional, and national).
• Work with your sales staff as well as the other parts managers to produce promotional flyers
• Schedule fieldwork and training sessions.
• Meet with vendors/manufacturer representatives as required to maintain our vendor programs
• Acquire new / retain current customers through the implementation of effective sales and marketing programs as well as superior customer service
• Maintain parts pricing levels for your branch customers

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of vehicle parts department experience required (heavy-duty parts department management experience preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with customers, employees, and vendors
• A team leader and motivator
• Excellent computer and organizational skills
• A passion for customer service, building a strong team and exceeding our parts sales goals

EDUCATION:

• An associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Valid State Driver’s License with a clean driving record required

EXPERIENCE:

• A minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds intermittently
• Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion are required

COMMUNICATION:

• Ability to read, communicate and respond to internal procedures and documentation
• Excellent computer skills required

HOURS:

• 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
