Engineering Director (new Position Due To Growth) Job Summary The Individual Will Bring Technical Leadership To H2GO Staff, Assisting With Utility Studies, Design Plan Review, Capital Improvements, Asset Management, Environmental Compliance, And Oversight Of Water Supply/distribution/treatment/storage, Wastewater Collection/conveyance/treatment And Reclaimed Water Projects. Job Duties And Responsibilities  Contribute To All Phases Of Water/wastewater Projects Including The Development Of Utility Master Plans And Design Concepts.  Review Feasibility Studies And Write Technical Memorandums.  Perform And Review Detailed Calculations, Working In A Collaborative Manner With Outside Consultants.  Collaborate With In-house Staff Related To Infrastructure Mapping, Asset Management, And Future Capital Improvement Projects.  Mentor Junior Staff And Other Support Staff.  Oversee Permitting Of Water And Wastewater Projects Through NCDEQ And Prepare Permit Modifications As Necessary.  Prepare RFQs And Solicit Outside Engineering Consultants As Necessary.  Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water/Sewer GEMS, InfoWater, And ArcGIS, For Water Distribution Modeling And/or Sewer Force Main Modeling Related To In-house Planning And Contracted Design Projects.  Develop/design Minor Project Plans And Specifications For Water/wastewater Projects.  Collaborate With Outside Consultants, Developers, And Utility Contractors To Design And Implement Efficient Utility Extensions.  Provide Technical Guidance On The Development Of Project Scopes, Concepts, And Strategies To Be Used For Water And Wastewater Utility Extensions.  Develop Standard Specifications And Typical Construction Details To Be Used By Outside Engineering Firms.  Interact With Vendors In Selection Of Equipment (pumps, Pipe Materials, Valves, Treatment Equipment, Storage Tanks, SCADA Systems, And Metering Equipment).  Select Appropriate Materials And Equipment For Utility Project Applications, Accounting For Desired Performance, Costs, And Operation And Maintenance Considerations.  Oversee Bidding And Contract Awards.  Conduct Or Assist CIP Manager On Project Kick-off And Monthly Progress Meetings.  Contract Administration Oversight.  Monitor And Maintain Quality On All Facets Of In-house And Contracted Utility Services. Qualifications  Bachelor’s Degree In Civil And/or Environmental Engineering.  4-8 Years Engineering Experience In Water/wastewater Required. Knowledge/experience Of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water/Sewer GEMS, InfoWater, ArcGIS And Water/sewer Modeling Software Strongly Preferred.  PE Or The Ability To Obtain Within 12 Months.  Ideal Candidates Will Have Specific Experience Managing Design For Construction Of Municipal Water Distribution, Storage, And Treatment Systems; Sanitary Collection And Conveyance Systems; Pump Stations And Treatment Systems; And Related Site Work.
