North Carolina Adult Correction is Hiring an Administrative Specialist I Near Franklin, NC

Description of Work

This is a clerical position that reports directly to Sign Products Plant Manager. Additional support is provided for Correction Enterprise Supervisory personnel. This position is also responsible for: preparing requisitions through the e-procurement system, and the NCFS (State Accounting System), maintenance of raw material and finished goods inventories, accounting of inmate incentive wages, processing written correspondence, completion of CNTR005 Direct Processing Forms and Expense Reports. Additionally provides assistance to applicants with completion of hiring packages, answers and directs telephone calls, etc. Correspondence for supervisory personnel’s signature and Enterprise Management are occasionally composed and typed by this position. This position is subject to sudden change and/or modifications within the work unit. If changes occur in departmental policies or State policies, this position must keep abreast of new information and implement changes as they occur. The scope of operations at Sign Products Facility will require this position to coordinate and prepare all accounting and purchasing procedures. This position will prepare a high volume of paperwork and communicate with vendors and outside sources. This position may facilitate workflow, route information and enhance Sign Products Plant’s office operations.
A valid NC driver’s license must be possessed at time of hire.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) Monday-Thursday 6:30am-5:00pm with State Benefits.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:

  • Documented experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and etc) and/or other platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating with upper management, vendors, and/or customers through both written correspondence and verbal interactions.
  • Proven experience using electronic purchasing systems to track orders, create purchase orders, manage raw materials, pay invoices, and complete weekly and monthly reports.
Management Preferences:
  • Experience in NCFS (North Carolina Finance System)
  • Experience with GSS (Global Shop System)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
