What you get in return …The most competitive pay in the industry based upon your skill level, along with a full benefits package. GENERAL SUMMARYThis IS NOT a posting for an automotive DESIGN ENGINEER. The Product Engineer will lead the development and launch of new products, processes, and design changes. This position will be the primary customer engineering contact, ensuring new product and changes to existing product meet NASG and Customer requirements. The Product Engineer will lead a cross-functional team, including functions from sales, estimating, tooling, engineering, and quality to ensure the feasibility of both product design andprocess design. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Evaluates product design for manufacturability, recommend ways to make a product more cost effective including product design & process design change recommendations. • Consults with industry experts to discuss estimates & feasibility analysis in order to resolve issues. • Prepare and presents detailed product design change proposals, FEA analysis& Autoform simulation results on automotive metal stampings. • Prepares and presents redlined drawings and design change proposals to the customers. • Participates in continuous improvement activities. • Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTSEducation: • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Experience: • 3 years of metal stamping experience / metal stamping tool & die experience is required.• Previous direct customer interface (face-to-face and verbal) with positive outcome is required. Personal/Technical Skills: • Advanced proficiency in Unigraphics NX is required (including NX Nastran).• Intermediate proficiency in Autoform is required.• Proven ability to read/interpret GD&T and engineering specifications is required.• Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office is required.• Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Pro is required.• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability is required.• Strong multi-task skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.• Demonstrated ability to function both independently and with good judgement in a team environment is required. Language Skills: • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English) used in the workplace. Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 20% to visit customers, suppliers, and other manufacturing sites. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
