Open until filled North Allegheny School District, a large suburban district in the Pittsburgh region with over 8,500 students and 1,200 employees, has a vacancy for the Chief of School Police, Safety, and Security. The Chief of School Police, Safety, and Security ensures the safety, security, and welfare of the students, faculty, and staff on North Allegheny School District property. This position will provide supervision of the District's School Police Officers and all comprehensive security and safety planning for the district's facilities.
Minimum Requirements

• At least ten years of experience working as a police officer with a State, County, or Municipal law enforcement agency. At least two years of law enforcement supervisory experience is preferred.
• Three years of administrative or management experience in emergency preparedness, EMS agency, emergency management, publice safety, or public health.
• Familiarity with NFPA 1600: Standard on Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity/Continuity of Operations Programs.
• Experience with training others and coordinating activities of outside organizations; designs, facilitates, and evaluates Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) compliant tabletop through full-scale exercises. (PEMA Instructor Cadre and FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing and complete reports in a timely manner.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations

• Currently certified, or willing to be certified in ALICE, National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Basic and Advanced SRO coursework.
• Must meet Municipal Police Officers' Education and Training Commission (NPOETC) proficiency standards with a District-approved service weapon/
• Must have CPR and AED certification or be willing to receive training and certification.
• Posses a valid PA Driver's License and a good driving record and be willing to submit a DMV clearance check.
• Act 34/151/114/126/168 Clearances/Certifications required.
• PEMA Instructor Cadre preferred.
• FEMA Master Exercise Practitioner preferred.
• Certification preferred (at least one of):
• PEMA: Municipal or County
• IAEM: AEM (Associate Emergency Manager), or GEM (Certified Emergency Manager)
• CBCP: Certified Business Continuity Professional

Appointment effective upon approval of Board of School Directors. Full benefit package available. Salary Range is $95,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
