Nortal is Hiring a 3D Printing and Design Lab Technician Near Seattle, WA

Overview

At Nortal we are seeking a talented and experienced Lab Technician with specialized skills in 3D printing and design to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our 3D printing operations, collaborating with our design and engineering teams, and ensuring the efficient functioning of our 3D printing lab. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of 3D printing technologies, proficiency in CAD software, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate closely with designers and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.

2. Utilize CAD software to create and modify 3D models, ensuring accuracy and feasibility for printing.

3. Operate and maintain 3D printers, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.

4. Conduct quality control checks on printed objects to verify adherence to specifications and standards.

5. Manage inventory of 3D printing materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.

6. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the 3D printing lab, including equipment upkeep and workspace tidiness.

7. Stay informed about advancements in 3D printing technologies and techniques, and propose innovative solutions to improve processes.

8. Provide training and guidance to team members on 3D printing best practices and safety protocols.

9. Troubleshoot technical issues with 3D printers, such as software errors, filament jams, and print failures.

10. Collaborate with external vendors or service providers as needed for maintenance or repairs of 3D printing equipment.

Qualifications

1.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field preferred.

2. Proven experience working with 3D printing technologies and CAD software.

3. Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design.

4. Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain various types of 3D printers (e.g., FDM, SLA, SLS).

5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

6. Effective communication and collaboration abilities, with a track record of working in multidisciplinary teams.

7. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

8. Commitment to safety protocols and guidelines for working in a laboratory setting.

9. Familiarity with post-processing techniques for 3D printed objects (e.g., sanding, painting, assembly) is a plus.

10. Willingness to adapt and learn new skills as technologies evolve.

Benefits

  •  Compensation Range: $50,000- $75,000 adjusted depending on the location .
