An anticipated vacancy exists for an Elementary Autistic Support Teacher within the Norristown Area School District for the 2024-2025 school year.

Qualifications:

• PA Certification in Elementary Special Education
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people
• Must be cooperative, congenial, and self-motivated
• Ability to complete task and run a classroom with minimal supervision
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide an appropriate program of education and training for the students
• Utilize the abilities, skills and talents of all members of the team to the fullest in educating the students
• Prepare lesson plans in accord with the students' IEPs
• Develop, write, and implement IEPs
• Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess the students' educational achievement
• Provide classroom management based on principles of child development and behavior modification techniques
• Progress monitor goals and report student progress reports to parents
• Work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team
• Develop professional relationships and a supportive climate which facilitates inclusion of the special education student
• Experience with ABA techniques preferred
• Conduct, write, and implement FBAs and PBSPs
• Work collaboratively with consultants from PaTTAN through the Autism Initiative
• Assume additional duties as assigned by the program supervisor

Monday- Friday

7.5 hrs /day

2024-2025 salary schedule: (Teachers contract is currently under negotiation) The rates below are the current rates:

Bachelor's - $51,733 to $57,899(Step 5)

Bachelor's 24 - $54,987 to $62,383(Step 5)

Master's - $58,074 to $66,699 (Step 5)

Master's 15 - $60,547 to $69,608(Step 5)

Master's 30 - $63,019 to $72,515 (Step 5)

Master's 45 - $63,484 to $72,999 (Step 5)

Doctorate/Master's 60 - $63,947 to $73,485 (Step 5)

Pay: $51,733.00 - $73,485.00 per year
