About the Role:

• Meet with customers in the showroom setting in addition to home consultations
• Learn a variety of manufacturers, furniture styles, fabrics and customization options
• Undertake design projects from concept to completion
• Lead numerous projects for custom furniture, rugs, décor, wallpaper, window treatments and accessories
• Define project requirements and schedule during the "brief"
• Interpret and translate client needs into visional presentation
• Offer a variety of custom options tailored to each customer
• Set costs and project fees according to budget
• Research and decide on materials and products sourcing
• Produce "sample" and "mood boards"
• Supervise work progress
• Work closely with clients, and support teams
• Research and follow industry changes, evolutions and best practices
• Develop a book of business and referrals

Skills and Experience:

• Proven retail sales experience
• Knowledge of interior design and luxury furniture
• Proven work experience in designing residential interior spaces
• Experience with client consultations, renovations, space planning, and new construction
• Expertise in layout, color, lighting, materials and fabrics selection, custom furniture, custom window treatments, luxury consumer products & more
• Experience in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Illustrator or other design programs a plus
• Excellent portfolio of previous work
• Creative talent, imagination, and eye for design
• Communication and presentation skills
• Project management skills
• Experience building a book of business
• BS degree in Interior Design or similar preferred

Requirements:

• Ability to make home calls to customers to provide a complete design solution
• Valid driver's license and ability to provide own transportation to and from customer's homes
• Ability to work within the showroom setting between the hours of 10:00am-5:00pm
• Willingness to work Saturdays and some holidays (no Sundays or nights)

Pay: $40,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
