Normandy is Hiring a Principal-ELC (K-3) - Summer School 2023 Near St. Louis, MO

Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking a Summer School Principal (K-3) to support school efforts by developing and executing a shared vision and mission for enhanced student learning to achieve dramatic gains in student achievement. Reporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Academic/Director of EleMiddle/ELC, the Principals will support the vision for school culture and academics; support a rigorous coaching plan, and ensure that students are preparing for the next level. 

Summary of Position:

 
The Summer School Principal will provide overall leadership at assigned campus. The Principal will supervise and facilitate the daily operations at the assigned school. The duties include working with other school district officials, state education officials, and teachers to establish and implement academic goals and curricula. The Principal will also be responsible for ensuring that student achievement is improved and that other key NSC objectives are met. The Principal are to serve as the chief administrator in implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member. The Summer School Principal will also demonstrate the necessary behaviors that support Normandy Schools Collaborative Five Pillars (Professionalism, Accountability, Collaboration, Trust, Respect).

  • Experience using data to lead others towards the improvement of student outcomes.
  • Provides effective instructional and curricular leadership.
  • Participates in the selection of personnel assigned to the school.
  • Supervises all school personnel, directly and/or indirectly.
  • Understand and facilitate a constructivist and collaborative culture of development and learning for students and staff.
  • Provide meaningful professional development for the staff when necessary.
  • Promote and maintain a positive school climate.
  • Promote and maintain appropriate student behavior in accordance with the unified discipline code.
  • Provide for effective day to day operation of the school.
  • Implement board policies, administrative rules and regulations as it relates to the school.
  • Prepares such reports as may be required.
  • Strong leadership, time management, decision-making, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements: 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience managing the student/teacher relationship in an urban environment is a plus.
  • Missouri Administrator Certification appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment.

Other Requirements:

  • Knowledge of student assessment and how to use the data planning for improvement of instruction.
  • Management skills and demonstrated ability in planning, organizing, task completion and decision-making.
  • Leadership/coaching experience is essential.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
