JOB SUMMARY
To plan, organize, and implement student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic and/or career vocational courses of study and by implementing district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
The Social Studies teacher at NSC is responsible for planning standards-aligned content for 6th -8th grade students. Teachers utilize the backwards planning method to create rigorous lessons that capitalize on Design Thinking. The Social Studies teacher will coordinate with team members to find alignment and connection between content areas. Additionally, the Social Studies teacher will partner with the Science teacher to design and teach the Investigations class. (See more information below.) The Social Studies content a NSC is designed entirely in-house and aligns to our big picture mission of community.
